Ian Warlick-Short

Ian is 2nd Degree Black Belt under Wisconsin Judo and began studying Judo in 2011 with Tohkon Judo in Chicago. He joined Madison Judo in 2014 and was promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt in 2018 and received his second degree in 2023. He is USA Judo Certified National Level coach and has had a successful completion career, including Silver at the 2017 WI State Championship and back to back 5th place finishes in his age group at USA Judo Nationals in 2018 and 2019 and under 40 Wisconsin State Champion in 2024.

When not teaching Judo, Ian is a mortgage loan officer for a local credit union and a father to twin girls.

PARKING INFORMATION

Parking is available in the front of the building but is limited. After 5pm and on weekends, the back parking lot of the building is open to the public. 2 MG&E lots within about a block that are also free after 6pm and on weekends. We recommend using these lots during the times they are available.

You will be able to enter from the back lot or the front lot, but for the security of those with whom we share the front hallway, its outer door will require a security code. We'll be propping that door open before and for the first several minutes of any given class. If you are visiting for the first time and don’t have that code, you’ll want to enter through the back lot. The back and MG&E parking areas are shaded red on this map. The rear entrance to Madison Judo will be marked with Foundations Jiujitsu and Madison Judo/USA Judo signage.
